Dryer

Clothes dryers are an essential appliance for many households, but they require regular maintenance and upkeep to ensure that they continue to function properly and safely. Here are a few tips for maintaining and ensuring the safety of your clothes dryer:

Keep the dryer clean: Over time, lint and other debris can build up inside the dryer and affect its performance. To keep your dryer clean, clean the lint filter after each use and have the venting cleaned each year. You can buy a vent cleaning brush for DIY or call a professional vent cleaning service.

Check and tighten all connections: Loose hoses and other vent connections can cause leaks, which can be a safety hazard. Make sure to check all hoses and connections regularly and tighten any that are loose.

Keep the dryer level: A dryer that is not level can vibrate excessively and potentially cause damage to the unit or surrounding walls and floors. Use a level to ensure that the dryer is properly balanced, and make any necessary adjustments to the feet or legs.

Use the correct settings: Using the wrong settings can cause problems with your dryer. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for choosing the correct settings, and avoid overloading the dryer or using the wrong heat setting for certain fabrics.

If you don't have a digital display; Always turn the timer knob clockwise to avoid damaging the gears.

Never stack items on top of the dryer. It is easy enough to do and seems very practical but you run a risk of overheating the dryer or causing a fire!

By following these maintenance and safety tips, you can help ensure that your clothes dryer continues to function properly and safely.
